LPKP Background
The Commercial Vehicles Registration Board (CVLB) was established under Section 3 of the CVLB Act 1987 (Act 334) and is responsible in implementing and enforcing the Act as well as provision of rules under it. Previously, LPKP was known as the Road Transport Licensing Board (RTLB) which was established under Section 105, Traffic Ordinance 1958. In 1984, RTLB Peninsular Malaysia was put under the Ministry of Public Enterprises and renamed as Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board (CVLB) in 1987. CVLB Headquarters in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak are in Putrajaya, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching respectively.
